“I welcome the announcement of the special election for Michigan’s 35th Senate District. With election dates now set for February 3, 2026 (primary) and May 5, 2026 (general), the people of Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties will have an opportunity to restore their voice in Lansing.

This election comes at a critical moment. Across the district, families are shouldering the burden of skyrocketing costs of living, underfunded schools, and growing uncertainty about the future. We continue to see efforts from extremist Republicans to dismantle public education, sow chaos, and politicize basic rights and services.

That’s why trusted and experienced leadership matters. I’ve spent my career fighting for working families, advocating for public health, and standing up for every child’s right to learn and thrive. I’ve never wavered—and I won’t start now.

Our campaign is rooted in service and driven by people. I’m ready to lead, and I’m ready to fight for the communities of this district on day one.”
